Well done to all who competed in our Easter Bank Holiday sprint triathlon. The provisional results are out and a big well done to our male and female winners Andrew Mercer (Thames Turbo Sigma Sport) and Emma Dews (TBAS). The results can be found here.
London Regional Triathlon Awards
Thames Turbo were delighted to accept a good haul of silverware at the recent London Regional Triathlon Awards. London Junior Series winners were:
Anthony Anderson Winner Boys age 9-10
Henry Dawson winner Boys age 11-12
Luke Penney Winner Boys aged 13-14
Pavan Rooprai second Boy age 15-16
Kim Rowe and Abi Frame, old and young volunteers of the year
Thames Turbo Race 2 was awarded Race of the Year
Thames Turbo regained the London Region Senior League Trophy
Thames Turbo WIN the London League
The call to action came and the members responded. Not only did we dominate the podium at the Jeykll and Hyde duathlon but we also filled the field with red, white and blue (with over 30 members racing). Our friends and London rivals Ful on Tri were a whisker away from taking the 2010 London League title and only a mob match plus overall victory at the final race of the season could prevent this from happening. Well done to Thames Turbo Sigma Sport team members Andrew Mercer and Esther Evans for taking the men’s and ladies title at the Jeykll and Hyde duathlon. We did it!
Luke and Pav race at the Inter Regional Championships

At the weekend Luke Penney and Pav Rooprai took their place as part of the London Region Team to race at the Inter Regional Championship in Wales. For the first time this year the race involved an open water swim and was draft legal.
To be selected for the team you had to be first or second in your age group in the selection races that took place throughout the spring/summer. For Luke this was his second appearance at the National level competion, Pav only started triathlon this season so what an amazing achievement. Both boys had fantastic races and Luke came 3rd in his age group in the country.

Dan Corner (Shorter Rochford) & Karen Axelsdottir (Optima) take the top slots at Race 4 on 31st August 2009, both setting new course records
Success for Thames Turbo Sigma Sport at the London Triathlon

Lucy Bowen won the female sub 2.30 wave and Andrew Mercer was 3rd in the mens race. The Thames Turbo army was out in force both on the course and spectating. Well done to all who competed.
Thames Turbo Sigma Sport do the Bananaman double (again)!

Ceepo Venom bikes powered the both teams to double victory in the male and female races at the annual Bananaman Team Time Trial at Dorney Lake.
For as many years as Bananaman has been running Thames Turbo has won at least one of the races. The men have dominated this event over the years with a 100% record. 2009 was no exception with Thames Turbo Sigma Sport teams taking top spot on both the mens and womens races. Go turbos!

Female – Lucy Bowen, Esther Evans, Helen Smith (TTTC A)
Thames Turbo Aquathlon winners 2009
Pavan Rooprai takes first place at the Aquathlon on 25th June.
Well done to everyone that took part and a nail biting finish where Pavan Rooprai took the race lead on the last lap of the pool.
