Background
Thank you for your interest in the Thames Turbo Triathlon Club (TTTC) based in Hampton, Middlesex. Formed in 1983, with over 300 Members, we are one of the oldest and largest triathlon clubs in the UK, this year celebrating 25 years old. We are a broad-ability club with Members of all ages (8–60+ years) ranging from novice to multiple Ironman athletes.
Thames Turbo Triathlon Club are members of the British Triathlon Federation and new and existing club members are encouraged to join their relevant Home Nation Association to take advantage of the benefits that membership offers.
We pride ourselves on our competitive history and can count three World Champions and other elite athletes amongst our alumni: Stuart Hayes, Spencer Smith, Richard Stannard and current World Champion Tim Don have all been Turbos on their way to the top! Thames Turbo Triathlon Club won the Triathlon 220 magazine Club of the Year Award in two successive years - 2004 and 2005. We have also been awarded the Race of the Year Award for one of the annual sprint triathlon races we organise from Hampton Pool.
As well as our busy training schedule, the Club is also very sociable with gatherings such as weekly social evenings, summer barbeques, an annual awards party, and a Christmas event. Members receive additional benefits such as money-off vouchers for Club race kit, discounts with selected sports retailers (Sigma, Sweat Shop) and reduced BTF membership. The Members only area of the Club website also provides Members with valuable training/racing information and tips, and is a useful and lively interactive networking forum. All members enjoy the team spirit of racing and marshalling at our sprint triathlon race series throughout the season. The races run on four Bank Holiday Mondays of the year.
